Not ready for summer to end!

Today is raining and miserable. I’m not ready to stay inside… to stop going to the water parks… to wear jeans instead of shorts…to wear a jacket:( I know it’s going to get warm again for a little while at least but the past 3 days around here have just been rainy and blue.
Friday after attempting to get to the waterpark on a day that wasn’t supposed to see rain at all… we turned around to come right back home after getting stuck in torrential downpours and thunder and lighting on the way there. Friday night we all went to Chuck E. Cheese for some silly fun. The pizza actually tasted good this time which is unusual so that was a nice surprise. I do have a complaint for them though. They have a “kid check” where you have stamps for the family when you enter and supposedly are checked when you leave to see that everyone belongs together. I realize that they don’t NEED to have this service, but the fact is, they do… so they should use it! It’s a complete waste and false sense of security to parents who actually think it will keep their kids in the building. I don’t let R leave my side, or B’s, but other kids, older or not are constantly running around and lost and it’s just not a good thing to have a “kid check” system at the door when it’s just for show. Anyway, that’s my CEC rant. Of course half the games didn’t work and the rides were pretty lame, but we had a good enough time. R got her silly little prizes…picked nice ones though…star sunglasses, bracelet, rings and a little dinosaur:) That was just the beginning of the indoor fun that I dread as the weather gets colder. Germs and small spaces…yippee!
Saturday did get us outside again though, so can’t complain there. Didn’t hit the water park, but the dry parts of the amusement park with my cousin and her family. R got to play with her 3 boys: 9y, 8y, and 3. They all had lots of fun. It was nice to get together with my cousin too since they live out of state and it doesn’t happen often.
Guess it was family weekend because we went to visit my parents to see my Aunt who was visiting from out of state as well. Both days we spent without B since he was busy working on our biz. He was editing a wedding he shot in July. Takes up too much of his time. We’re not going to be in biz much longer. That’s a whole different post.

We have to get out and hit a sale, the post office and drive around in the rain……grrrr.
