“Mommy, can I drive?”
By Mommy24-7 | July 25, 2007
No, I have NOT been cleaning my toilets since Sunday…just haven’t had time to get back here for more than a minute.
Last week was busy but I can’t remember details at this point. If some happen to emerge I will go into them:) I do remember Thursday… R and I went to the local amusement park. I promised her we would go since we cancelled our pool day on Wed. Ah! That reminds me about Wednesday!! :) We had a pool day planned with the MC (momsclub) but it was stormy and when we were set to leave it was raining:( So we brought our picnic blanket and spread it out in the living room. We had such a nice time together. Then she went on to cook food for some of her friends who made their way to the picnic blanket. I just took a look at a picture I took…. Belle had corn on the cob, Jasmine had a burger, Hershey kiss had a blueberry muffin and Goofy had a hotdog BUN. She loves to feed her friends.
So back to Thursday…I realized on the way that I had forgotten the towels, so no water park for us, just the other stuff. Kind of a bummer since that was the main reason of going, but there was PLENTY to do anyway. We have season passes so it’s great to do something different each time without trying to do it all and rush. It’s always a nice time. She went to story-time and got a Princess tattoo from the Princess herself which she proudly wore to her Aunt B’s rehearsal dinner the next night. (I promised her she could but said it would need to be off for the wedding). It was a rainy day…off and on. We lucked out that we were inside when the major downpours happened. She decorated a cookie with way too much icing etc on it…so much fun! And we wandered around the gift shop…both great time passers while it rained. Before and after the showers we went on the carousel a few times and a few other rides we like (planes, trains and tilt o’whirl:) ). So much fun, just Mommy and her girl strolling around laughing and being silly. One of the other highlights were the puddles… oh she loved the puddles…and she was ecstatic to hear those wonderful words from me “Go ahead…” “Oh look at that big one” I think we both had the giddiest smiles on our faces…she was so happy and I was so happy to see her so happy. It lead me back to when I was pregnant with her and would have long conversations with my growing belly… “you’ll have so much fun jumping in puddles after it rains….” Ah, so sweet:) I think she thought I lost my mind when I said she could get wet/dirty. On the way out I got her a chocolate covered pretzel….more happiness….
It sounds like I’m constantly giving my daughter junk…I really don’t. She eats such a well balanced diet and loves her fruits and veggies…I think she deserves a treat and honestly to be spoiled once in a while:)
Home to B…he made a yummy steak dinner for us and I left them playing DDR on the 360 as I was heading out to pick up his tux on the way to my board meeting that night. B just bought the game the other day… we had DDR on our old Playstation that was very good for weightloss and maintenance before our wedding over 5 years ago:) So he chalks it up as a purchase for our health and well being. I have yet to play, but also can’t wait. I DID hit the gym 3 times last week as I said I would! (Go me!!) But, DDR is a nice option. R loves it so far. She’s a dancin’ fool.
So what does anything have to do with the title of my post? It’s just what popped into my head as I sat down to write… I looked over at her on the monitor…sleeping like an angel. Last week we were in bed with the monitor on and she was in her bed… she started mumbling and out of nowhere said “Mommy, can I drive?” Maybe you had to be there, but it was just too cute.
