Macaroni picture frame and painting

Today we had playgroup in the morning… we were outside at one of the girls houses….enclosed deck and iced coffee…mmmm! It was HOT out but it was really nice to be out anyway. All the kids played nicely. We decided to stay in the rest of the day though…too hot to do much of anything that didn’t need to be done.
We did some painting….I covered her whole play table with paper and cut out foam shapes to paint with and also used a few different brushes. Some of the brushes were the kind with paint in them that you have to squeeze the brush to paint. It sounds like a good idea but every time I get them out I remember that I don’t care for them too much. We also used some sponges on sticks that I picked up in the good old Target dollar section that day I got her bedding for the new bed. They were worth every penny…love them. I”ll have to post a pic of our final product..it’s really cute.
Then Blues Clues was on and I overheard (while making lunch) them talking about macaroni picture frames….well I made a comment that just came out of my mouth quicker then I could take it back. “OOOhhhh macaroni picture frames! We should make one of those tomorrow!!” R, sitting and eating already, says “No! Today!!” Well, I sort of did that to myself, so macaroni frame was next on the list! She did a beautiful job I have to say. I don’t think anything I ever made from macaroni looked quite as nice. LOL.
It was a GOOD day and I got a lot done…sort of. Two steps forward, two steps back. I’ve been trying to sign something at the bank for a week now. They couldn’t find the paper when I went in…when they found it, it was a torrential downpour and I was stuck in the grocery store and not rushing to go out in the storm with R to the car and then back in and out of the rain again. So…we’re playing phone tag now. I’m not taking a trip there until I know they are ready and they didn’t call me back today.
B and I went to work out tonight and R played in the kids area. Good intentions… but I think I pulled something:( I went to physical therapy for my back a few months ago but I’ve worked through it. Now I just need to be careful. If I could only get to the gym more often I wouldn’t keep hurting myself when I go once in a blue moon.
Sleep went well tonight… we got home late after working out and stopping out for Subway dinner (now that’s twice this week, novelty has worn off:) ). I was still determined to get her to bed before 8:30…and I did! Even had 3 minutes to spare!
Now I need to dig through my basket full of papers sitting on my counter. I’d like it to be empty! One of the things in there is paperwork for R’s preschool for the fall. I’m waiting to hear back from the director tomorrow to make sure I’m not too late and can still get her in before I fill out the papers. I hope I’m not too late. She will love it so much.
