Asleep EARLY???

Yes, tonight my little angel has actually been asleep since 8:20!!! I can’t remember when the last time that happened was! Last night it was 10:45!! But that was under special circumstances and can’t be blamed completely on her. My parents were visiting and we had a fun filled day of playing outside and eating ice cream right before bed…. we knew we shouldn’t have, but honestly bedtime doesn’t go easily without ice cream, so we thought why not let her enjoy too.
My parents had a blast with her. She was having tea parties and sticker book fun with my dad… he and my mom were impressed at her adding skills. I know I have told them and thought she had “shown off” for them but I guess I was wrong. She definitely did NOT get that skill from Mommy :) We grilled some yummy dinner, played outdoors a lot including her pool, bubbles, slide, ring toss, frisbee, balls, and spraying with the hose, so she was happy and we all had a nice day together. I love spending time with my parents. And they LOVE spending time with R and she with them. R always has to make sure they are both paying attention and she addresses them “Abuelita, Grandad…look at this!” etc….
Back to early bedtime….it was a shocker! We decided to go to our local amusement park for a little while this afternoon… had some Subway for lunch which was actually a nice change and yummy and then headed off for fun in the HOT sun. We hit the flume multiple times…it became our favorite! We ran around and went on lots of rides, had some lemonade and dippin dots and B realized how nice it is not to have the stroller! (we forgot it) Stopped for dinner on the way home and then I realized that R was fast asleep on the way home. It was so quiet! It was too early for her to sleep and she never takes naps so this would NOT help bedtime…so I transferred her to bed anyway and she woke up. We called Abuelita to say hello and goodnight, gave her some applesauce and said it was bath time… She was so sad that I was saying it was bedtime saying “but it’s not bedtime, it’s still light outside:( ” But I thought it was best to get her to sleep as soon as possible since I knew she was tired. So far, so good. We’ll see how the night goes and what time she decides to wake tomorrow.
I have ice cream with pretzels and chocolate sauce waiting for me….4 days in a row of ice cream! I need to stop!
