Happy Birthday!!

My second baby girl recently turned one. How did that happen? I swear I just brought her home from the hospital and now she’s this teeny little individual with her “drunken-cowboy-baby” walk and her cute little teeth. I am really enjoying this age with her and so is her big sister. I had a great bday outfit (tutu and onesie) made for her from etsy. I’ll post a pic and a link to the seller if I can. It was absolutely adorable! I also had another tutu made for her along with matching Mommy, big sis and little sis bracelets. Still have to get baby girl’s one year photos done, so little time!Things are finally starting to settle down a little bit here though, so I’m hoping to get more posts in. There are so many great sites I love and I really want to get them in one place for myself and others to make use of.There are so many things I’d love to talk about, like my recent purging of tons of plastic items and my search for safter alternatives. From shower curtains to sippy cups, I’ve made some great changes.Not to mention, my big girl is now in Kindergarten! Mommy needs some wine

Pacifier Holder

Just had to give a shout out about this awesome Paci Grip I bought this past weekend. My baby girl only likes one type of paci and I couldn’t find anything to hold it. I had seen some online but didn’t think I’d like them and the one I had from my first daughter worked fine until my baby girl started flinging it around and the velcro that held the pacifier on would always come open and wheeee went the paci across the car/floor etc… Plus is had a pointy clip that I wasn’t happy with. This one won’t go anywhere…cord is simply looped thru and the clip is soft. Sure, it’s very basic and there are tons with lots of cool attachments but this one is simple, reasonably priced and works! Whoo hoo!

A million and one things on my mind…

It’s been too long since my last post. Why? I’ve been a bit busy. I know everyone’s busy but this past year has been extraordinarily busy for our family! I really don’t even have time now except that I remembered I had a blog and that I’d like to get some thoughts out there.
We moved this summer while I was hugely preggo, had our 2nd daughter in the fall and have been stuck inside for most of her life since it’s so cold and now snowy. My oldest (R) has had sooo much change in her life with all of the family changes and is doing really well, but it’s hard for 5 (just 5) year olds to adapt to an avalanche of things. She’s normally really good at adapting too. We got thru the holiday’s and her bday and a long distance family wedding and now I’d like to move in slow motion for a little while…or a few months 
With the new baby comes LOTS of things, products to discuss and research. I don’t get much online time at all but it’s getting a bit better now that we actually have some sleep going on in the house now. Before now, my iphone was my lifeline and only way I really got in touch with the world…and hardly ever using the phone… more Facebook, texts and emails, weather, lists and records. I don’t know how I got along without it when I had R 5 years ago!!
Ok, I can’t catch up on the last year more than I have at this time…must get back to organizing the clutter that is my kitchen counter and find some K-cups to order now that I’m back to drinking more then just decaf coffee.
Have I mentioned my back is killing me? I think my bones are imploding as I speak…need more calcium. Yet another one of the million and one things on my mind.
Ah, million and one: need to look with R for flower girl dresses for wedding number 2 of the year! She’s so excited! This time she gets to walk down the isle with her sister who currently can’t even sit by herself (for more then 10 seconds).
2010 will be fun!!

Getting our girl back!

Well, I called and talked to the doc tonight… turns out some kids just can’t take it…Zyrtec, Claritan or similar meds. I wasn’t imagining it…really does make kids hyper… not all kids, but of course mine 
He recommended eye drops and nasal spray for now and I’ll be taking her in next week for some sort of testing. I don’t want her to have these miserable allergies but I’d much rather prefer the allergies to the bad behavior. Poor thing

Zyrtec for 4 year olds?

R’s been taking zyrtec for a week now for seasonal allergies per her doctor. I need to call the doctor about it tomorrow but I’m wondering if anyone has had experience with it completely turning their 4 year old into a crazy person. Her behavior is out of control. She’s acting like a teenager! She is not usually like this at all and I’m just wondering if it could have something to do with the medicine or just a lovely phase…maybe both. I am ready to run out of my house screaming.

Happy Anniversary

We just celebrated our anniversary this past weekend and had a really nice time. My parents watched R from Friday to Sunday!! It was the first time she ever slept overnight without us. She had a GREAT time. We felt like we were dating again It was just really nice. We saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine in the theatre and had Marley and Me and Twilight on Netflix, blu-ray of course. We liked all three movies which was a plus… never good wasting time on a dud.

Zippered Mattress Protectors for Allergy Relief

Annoyance of the day… washed my daughters allergy cover today and it ripped to shreds!! Haven’t had any trouble with it before… They are NOT cheap and now we have to get a new one. I’ve been wanting one for our bed too but we have a very thick King mattress and they are $$$ or not deep enough. I guess that will be my fun for tomorrow. I found a bunch of sites online but I’m just not in the mood to do this now

I’m also really getting annoyed at our washer…we’ve had it for 6 years and I guess that’s about the time when they start causing problems? Maybe we should just leave it with the house…that’s another story…we had our house on the market, now it’s off but will be on again.

New role…

On R’s bday she got way too much as usual…but her special gift was a shirt. Sounds boring right? She thought it was really pretty and then sounded out the words on the front in sparkly rhinestones: BIG SISTER!
Oh she was sooooo excited!! She’s been asking for a little sister forever!!! We won’t know til next month if it’s a boy or girl, but she’s already very much into the Big Sis role. She’ll have to wait til October, but she’s already proving she’s going to be a wonderful Sister24-7

That catches me up right? Eeek. I didn’t realize it has been so long! I must have a lot to talk about huh? We’re currently listening to Pandora Radio… R likes that I created a Disney station and Laurie Berkner station for her. Rockin’ out!!
The weather’s been great this week… today will be day 4 of being able to play outside! Whoo hoo!
